Sappy Birthday!

Yes,  today is the Big Day for me. The Big 5-0. My Birthday. It has started well. For those of you interested in what my gift-swag haul has been, here is what I have received so far (In addition to the awesome autographed Witchiepoo photo I mentioned in the previous post):

(WARNING: Yes, I am aware that most of these gifts seem like they would be more appropriate for an eight-year-old than a grown man, but please reserve your snarky comments. It's my Birthday!)

• From my dear Epal Andrea, I got an exclusive "Young Amy Pond" figure that she picked up  for me when she visited the Doctor Who Experience in London. It really isn't that great a figure, but it is an "exclusive" that most fans here in the States won't be able to get their hands on (at least not at a reasonable price), so I am thrilled with it. The fact that it arrived a few days ago at the end of a particularly unpleasant day made it that much more appreciated.

• From Perfect Wifey: A Bamboo™ Wacom tablet. This is another of those gifts I  didn't know I wanted till I got it. Soon I will be goin' all crazy-digital with my cartoons (don't hold your breath).

• Also from Perfect Wifey: The Mamma-Jamma of gifts: A Star Wars AT-AT Imperial Walker! For those of you out of the loop that have no idea what this is, it is a toy, but WHAT a toy! It is HUGE! It towers over Rocco the Wonder Dog (Who is afraid of it. I think he thinks we got some weird new dog to replace him!), it make all kinds of noisy, obnoxious sounds, and overall just thrills me to death!

I have no idea how PW knew I wanted this, but maybe all the Amazon links to it I sent to her about it gave her a clue.

One unexpected "gift" I received, just in time for my Birthday, was a severe case of Heat/Sun stroke! I have been spending way more time than I usually do outdoors this Summer. Yes, I know that as a pasty person of European descent, I am supposed to be kept in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight, but recent circumstances have required me to be outdoors a lot lately. The result is an unnatural, random "Farmer's Tan", and the aforementioned case of Heat/Sun stroke. Before you say anything, yes, I have been using sunscreen, and drinking plenty of fluids, but the fact of the matter is that I am unaccustomed to "outdoor life". Hopefully, I will acclimate before the Summer is over.

BTW, the illustration here is a pretty accurate description of what I look like right now. Enjoy.

Enough rambling! It is my Birthday, and I must celebrate! Surely more gifts and pleasures await me!

Or at least a new Judge Judy is on...

Happy Birthday Perfect Wifey!

Lots and lots of stuff going on, which I promise I will share with you later.

Today is Perfect Wife's Birthday, so of course, I should be writing all about how fantastic she is, that I'm so glad she was born, how glad I am that she is mine, etc., etc. As I said though, time is limited, so just let me say she is fantastic, I'm so glad she was born, I'm  glad she's mine, etc,. etc.

Also, kudos to her parents, my Perfect In-Laws. Well done!

By the way, I don't know where this picture of her comes from. When asked, she mumbled something about, "shore leave" and, "her days at the Academy", and that this guy is "just some 'dude' she knew". Sorry to see her taste in men hasn't improved.

Happy of Happiest, my Love!

Dating My Birth- Again!

Yep- It's that time of year again, the anniversary of the day I slid outta Mum's birth canal, and into the world. Actually, "slid" ain't exactly the correct term. "Barely Squeezed" would be more accurate; Look at the size of my head! Poor Mum! No wonder she walked like a cowboy.

Since it is my Birthday, I'm taking the day off from blogging. If you want the whole "Behind the Seeds" story of my birth, you can  check out all the grisly details from last year's post.

As always, if you forgot to send me a token of your affection, don't fret. There's still plenty of time to shop.

Happy Birthday, Me!

Happiest of Happys!

There is a danger of this blog becoming the Bill-Rambles-On-About-His-Perfect-Wife Blog. I know I do it a lot, and I hope that those of you out there who are living a bitter, loveless existence will not think I am rubbing your nose in my good fortune. No, as I have mentioned before, I cite my relationship with PW to give hope to all that there is someone out there for everyone.

Also, today I have a really good excuse for dragging PW into the spotlight: It's her Birthday! In honor of this most special of days, instead of one of my usual scribbles, I am illustrating today's post with an actual photo of my amore (she's on the left). This picture was taken on a trip  we took to Disneyland. I chose this image because I wasn't sure PW would want her face plastered across the interweb, and this image seemed innocuous enough, while still showing off her general babealiciousness.
This photo also reveals my skill as a photographer, as well as my right index finger, which appears in many of  the pictures I take.

So Happy Birthday Perfect Wife! Thanks also to your Folks, The Perfect In-Laws, for making you possible!

Dating My Birth

In October of 1960,  husband and wife Bill and Jacqueline White were given a gift by Bill's sister Margie: A romantic weekend getaway on Cape Cod. Apparently, they had a wonderful time, because around 9 months later, on July 15, 1961, they had a bouncing baby boy, Me, Bill Jr.

At least that's the way my mother tells the story of my conception. Mercifully, she never went into detail about just how "romantic" the weekend got. I figure though, I must be proof that they had a pretty good time.

My parents already had 2 girls, and they were delighted to have a boy at last. Even if that boy was me. My Father was especially delighted to have a son. Finally, someone to share his passion for athletics with! Later, when he realized the White family sports fan gene was absent in my DNA, he was a pretty good sport about it. He did spark my interest in cartooning though, and used to spend time drawing characters with me.

As delighted as my parents were to have me, I could never help but take note of the fact that they had no more children after me. I would like to think that this was an economic decision on their part. Sometimes though, I wonder if the experience of pushing my plus-size cranium out her birth canal colored my Mother's decision.

So yes, today I celebrate 48 years on this planet. Thanks to Mum & Dad (and Aunt Margie!) for making it all happen.

Hey, what are you sitting around reading this for? Get out and buy me a present!
