i don't know why, but barks is one of a few classic comic book artists whose work never interested me. john stanley is another.
they were both incredibly talented, and their contributions to cartooning are incredibly important.
i guess i'm more of a milton stein kinda guy.
Never a big John Stanley fan either, maybe because I have never looked at much of his work very closely. By coincidence, he was at the same event where I met Barks.
i'm surprised to hear that, as i thought mr. stanley had nothing to do with comic book fandom.
as i understood after mr. stanley left comics he spent the rest of his life silk screening rulers.
