Enough Already!
To all of you people in more temperate climates, save your snickers. We will be having the last laugh come hurricane/tornado season.

None too soon for me!!!
XO, Your Fav Sista #2
I hear y'all got it pretty rough up there! Oops, I snickered - nestled as I am in my balmby Florida weather. Hope I didn't jinx myself come hurricane season.
That's a great drawing, Bill!
aren't we the ones that are supposed to be snickering... putting snickers out in the snow so that we can enjoy them as a frozen treat?
oh- i see- you mean... nevermind.
this is a great pic, but your poor pup!
i can imagine julias schwartz and gardner fox taking this and crafting a story around it, the way they used to do with their cover artists' works.
please tell us a bit about how you create these works for your blog. i'm especially curious about the coloring process.

Captain Cold looks suspiciously familiar...
I've had enough of it too Bill!!!
Love this drawing, especially the wrinkles in the clothing. Whenever I draw wrinkles they look so lame and non-wrinkle-like. Maybe you could do a post on drawing wrinkles.
Thanks, as always, for the kind words, all.
Mykal- We were in Florida in December, and it was FREEZING! Don't get cocky!
eeTeed- I just used the Micron pens and Chartpak markers on this one. The "icy blasts" were white out.
David- Any time I need wrinkle reference, I just look in the mirror. HAW! Seriously though, the best way to draw wrinkles is to look at your own clothes while you draw- It's what I did here.
If you really want a good tutorial on rendering fabric, check out DRAW magazine, issue #8. Bret Blevins has a great piece on Drapery there.
i never asked...
are you related to the archie artist, bob white?
EeTeeD-
Who?
Never heard o' him.
bob white was an archie artist.
best known for doing cosmo the merry martain.
i THINK he might have gotten blacklisted from archie for working on tippy teen.
joe edwards told a not so nice tale about this man. if it was true he deserved to be blacklisted.
jerry beck told tale that he met bob white in the 70's. totally out of the art biz, doing... i THINK... computer type work for some corporation.
if what joe edwards said was true, the man doesn't deserve to even clean toilets for a living. they should shoot him into space and let him live on mars with his merry martain friend.

Awesome art Bill. Actually, your picture just reminded me that now is the optimal time to get my Captain Cold out and review him. You know, so I can take pictures of him in 15 feet of snow, haha.
Super stuff as always.
The best rogues gallery out there - love your take on him, BW! The first villain I ever set eyes on after my mom brought home that first comic (complete with 1/2 cover)!

Newton-
Last week Perfect Wifey and I actually were out at 10:30 at night taking pictures of my Captain Cold figure. Pictures came out crappy, though. Hard to hold the camera still when you're freezing your tush off!
